The Hex Search Tool focuses on the searching capability, it allows you to find Text and Hex patterns where all or only part of the pattern is known. This can aid to find programming code where literal values are not known but the command sequence in part or whole is known:

Hex 4Bit Wildcard Search
e.g. 5XXA would find all Hex patterns that start with 4Bit 5 then two unknown 4bit hex values followed by a 4Bit A
